New Non-Executive Directors Appointed

Stroud & Swindon, the UK’s 15th largest building society, today announced the appointment of two new non-executive directors – Jane Ashcroft and Michael O’Leary.

Jane is currently Managing Director, Care Services of Anchor Trust the market leader in the provision of residential and nursing care for older people, sheltered housing, home care and improvement. Previously she was Head of HR Development, BUPA Care Services.

Jane also holds two other non-executive positions.  She is Vice Chair of the English Community Care Association, the largest representative body for care home providers, and is a member of the International Council for the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Michael has been a Main Board Director and CEO of three public companies over a period of 20 years including Misys Plc where he served for 15 years from IPO to FTSE 100 status. He was also Chief Executive of Marlborough Sterling plc, a provider of IT services to many building societies and life insurers. 

Currently he is a non-executive director on three public company boards, Helphire in Bath, Psion Plc in London and Headlam Plc in Coleshill where he is Chairman of the Nominations and Remuneration Committee.

Current non-executive directors Baroness Rennie Fritchie and Mike Bramall will retire from the Board in 2008 and these new appointments have been made as part of our succession planning.
